- Completing the internship activities is a mandatory requirement for graduation. According to university’s norms and forms, students must submit a written request for internship, in addition to and different from the Thesis request, by filling the specific form – the form depends on the type of internship chosen by students, intramoenia or extramoenia (see below).
- To encourage students to focus on specific experimental activities, we highly suggest them to do their internship in the same lab where they choose to conduct their thesis activity. In such circumstances, the Master's Thesis Advisor and the Internship Tutor coincide.
- The internship period may be included in the thesis period – they can overlap. The hours and types of activities completed for the internship should be reported in the specific register (the internship book) until the completion of 250 hours (10 CFUs) assigned to the internship activity
- The internship can take place at University structures (intramoenia) or at other institutions (extramoenia), such as research centers or corporations that have an agreement with the University of Naples “Federico II”. The agreement list is available on University Internship website at the section “ELENCO CONVENZIONI ATTIVE”
- Students can start their internship after the approval of the Thesis and Internship Committee of the Master's Degree Course in Medical Biotechnology, composed by Professor Silvia Parisi and Professor Rosa Marina Melillo. Internship can start after the first semester of the first year.
To start the Intramoenia Internship activity (within University structures), students must fill out the Intramoenia Training Project form (Progetto formativo Intramoenia).
To start the Extramoenia Internship activity (at a host institution), please download the attached guidelines file to complete all the procedures correctly (file name: Extramoenia internship guidelines).
Students must fill out the Extramoenia Training Project on the Collabora platform, the link is available on the website University Student Internships too.
Students have to select an internship starting date that allows them to complete all the procedures before beginning their laboratory internship activities.
Once the Internal Tutor has accepted the project on Collabora, it must be digitally signed by the legal representative of the host institution and sent via PEC (certified email) by the host institution to dip.medic.molecol.biotecmedic@pec.unina.it
During the internship (both intramoenia and extramoenia ) students have to keep track of the hours passed in the lab on the "Intramoenia (or Extramoenia) Internship Book," which can always be downloaded from the forms page (Modulistica tirocinio),
At the end of their internship, students have to hand it to the Student Secretary's Office.
(For more information on the internship activity check the University website).
